Creating Root file system image for the at91sam9261

Sun Mar 26, 2017 5:19 pm

Dear all,

I am trying to develop the root file system image for the at91sam9261 controller based development board. But I am stuck at this point and unable to create the root file system for my development board.

My development board has following specs :

Processor: Atmel’ AT91SAM9261S (ARM926EJ-S core with MMU capable of 200MHz operation)

64Mbyte SDRAM (2*16-bit, support up to 128Mbyte)

128Mbyte NAND Flash (support up to 256Mbyte, bootable)

4/8Mbyte Data Flash (Reserved for soldering, bootable, multiplex with SD/MMC interface)

2Kbit EEPROM

So please tell me how can I make the root file system for this board.

thanks and regards

What OS, and what filesystem type?
Do you intend to do this by hand (individual commands), or a script?
BTW the AT91SAM9261 is a SoC, rather than a "processor" or "controller".

For Linux, the easiest solution is to use Buildroot.
