gcc size of bin code generating problem, Workaround

Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:34 pm

i found out that if u add -finline-limit=600 thats suposed to be de default value
CCFLAGS=-g -mcpu=arm926ej-s -Os -Wall -D$(TARGET) -I$(INCL) -finline-limit=600

when you compile the bin generated is about 300 bytes smaller it seems that there is a problem in gcc, it seems it isn't asuming 600 as de default value even so if you put -finline-limit=15 it generates smaller code also.

So people out there try adding these line to your make files to the flags for the CC. Maybe it can generate a smaller code for you also lets discuss if it works.
