ATSAM3s2B JTAG Problem

Fri Feb 27, 2015 3:50 pm

I'm using a custom board that uses ATSAM3s2b ARM microcontroller.

Board is supplied with 3.3V for VCCIO's pins, and internally 1.8V regulator for VCC Core supply voltage.

I'm trying to program the chip using Atmel-ICE and AVR Studio 6.2
When I try to program or erase, or access to device using JTAG, AVR Studio shows this error:

Severity: ERROR
ComponentId: 20100
StatusCode: 131121
ModuleName: TCF (TCF command: Device:erase failed.)

Could not activate interface, but found DAP with ID 0x5b2d03f.

This usually indicates that the security bit is set. Please try to perform a chip erase to clear the security bit before accessing the device again.

Microcontroller soldered in board is new. I have tried connecting ERASE pin to +3.3V and also leave it unconnected and error still continues.

What could be happening?
Can some of you post a schematic diagram to verify required JTAG connections between ATMEL-ICE and Microcontroller?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm nearly at the same problem and have no solution.

- using the ATSAM4SD32B on a costum Board.
- Jtag Interface
- flashed the microcontroller one time
=> now I get the same message as you wrote above.

I tried to perform a chip erase with the instruction from the datasheet:
1. Assert the ERASE pin (high)
2. Assert the NRST pin (low)
3. power cycle the device
4. Maintain the ERASE pin high for at least the minimum assertion time.

Time is 9-18 seconds.

Now I get the message:
"No device detected"

Can somebody explain how is the right procedure to do a chip erase?

Hi there, any solution to this problem? I run into the same troubles.
I was able to programm de device several times and changed some clocking settings. Then suddendly i was not able to program the device sam4e16e any more.
-> it could be, that the clocksettings are invalid. Maybe this helps. But this does not explain, why the chip erase seams not to clear the whole Flash, so that the missconfigured clockoptions still remain.

I already tried with erasing the chip, but this seems not to work. Is there a possibility to check, if the flash has been reseted?
I've got this message:

Severity: INFO

Could not activate interface, but found DAP with ID 0x2ba01477.

It sounds like this is the same error I have.

I solved it here.
