Linux OS is not working on AT91sam9m10 development board

Thu Dec 13, 2012 1:21 pm

1. I’m using AT91sam9m10 development board with SAM-BA 2.12 & trying to download the Linux OS (linux4sam-angstrom-at91sam9m10ekes) . On executing batch file “at91sam9m10ekes_demo_linux_nandflash.bat” ,
log file output is :

-I- Waiting ...
-I- TCL platform : Windows NT
-I- SAM-BA 2.12 on : windows
current connection is \usb\ARM0, \\usb\\ARM0 to be matched
-I- Retrieved arguments from command line :
-I- argv 0 : \usb\ARM0
-I- argv 1 : AT91SAM9M10-EK
-I- argv 2 : at91sam9m10ekes_demo_linux_nandflash.tcl
-E- Board at91sam9m10-ek not found
-E- Supported boards : at91sam7a3-ek at91sama5d3x-ek no_board at91sam4sd32-ek at91sam9260-ek at91sam3s4-ek at91sam7xc512-ek at91cap7-stk at91sam3u4-ek at91sam7x256-ek at91cap9-stk at91sam7se512-ek at91sam9rl64-ek at91sam7s161-ek……

But, the AT91sam9m10 development board is detected in SAM-BA 2.12 as “\USBserial\com7” and before downloading the OS, nandflash is initialized & erased using SAM-BA 2.12 .

:?:
Q1. :
Why the Linux OS (linux4sam-angstrom-at91sam9m10ekes) is not downloading in the NANDFLASH using “at91sam9m10ekes_demo_linux_nandflash.bat”.

2. While Manual OS downloading I’m using the following memory map :

AT91Bootstrap -------0x0 ------------ nandflash_at91sam9m10ekes . bin
U-Boot -----------------0x20000 ------------ u-boot-1.3.4-exp.4-at91sam9m10ekes-nandflash . bin
U-Boot Env.------------0x60000 ------------ ubootEnvtFileNandFlash . bin
Linux Kernel-----------0x200000 ------------ uImage-2.6.30-r1-at91sam9m10ekes . bin
Root FS (jffs2)---------0x400000 ------------ Angstrom-x11-at91sam9m10-image-glibc-ipk-2009.X-stable-
at91sam9m10ekes.rootfs.jffs2

Note : I sent the boot file in nandflash correctly by using “send boot file ” option & others with normal “send file” option.

After downloading when I’m running the OS, debug terminal is showing that :

Start AT91Bootstrap...
-E- No NandFlash detected !!!

But, the nandflash jumper is closed & when I’m testing it, it is fairly detected with SAM-BA 2.12.

:?:
Q2. :
Why the Linux OS (linux4sam-angstrom-at91sam9m10ekes) is not running correctly, & why it is not detecting the NANDFLASH.

NAND Flash test:

For NAND Flash test, when I’m using the “basic-nandflash-project” with J-Tag/J-Link debugger in IAR IDE, it shows the following warnings :

I think with this much of information you can definitely guess the fault. I will very thankful for your any kind of help.
