Can't get Atmel SAM-ICE to properly run SAMA5D2 Xplained Bare Metal Examples

Mon Feb 05, 2018 6:55 pm

Hello,

I Can't get my Atmel SAM-ICE to properly run SAMA5D2 Xplained Bare Metal Example.

Processor: SAMA5D27 on SAMA5D2 Xplained Evaluation board

I have a problem determining why my Atmel SAM-ICE (Segger J-Link) can't halt the processor, when entering debug mode.

J-LINK Hardware version 9.4

It appears to be entering SAM-BA - as I get "RomBoot" on the serial debug connection.

It also sets up a USB com port- where I can type V# and get the version

I have JP1-(EDBG_DIS) and JP9-(BOOT_DIS) installed. - so it should not do this.

If I manually stop the processor, I can change the PC manually to 0x200000 - and run the example.

According to Segger - this should not happen.

It should stop at "main()".

What is going on ?

And How do I correct it ?

With what software and interface are you using the SAM-ICE?

Why, is there a breakpoint?
It has been many years since I last used a SAM-ICE so maybe I'm not qualified to respond, but you're not making any sense to me.
