ADC driver sama5d2

Thu Nov 23, 2017 6:46 pm

Hey,
I'm trying to make ADC work, I'm using linux4sam5.6 and linux 4.9, running on sama5d2.
I'm setting the ADC inside the device tree and inside config file, according to the documentation I found.
When I'm trying to run "modprobe at91_adc" command it doesn't find the module, and when I run "lsmod" command I get nothing.
Everything looks like it should work but it still doesn't.
I'll be happy for some help.
Thank you

These build steps can have many pitfalls, but your description is so ambiguous as to be worthless. However once again your mistake is obvious.

You're using the wrong driver for the SAMA5D2.

And you persist with the negative descriptions.

Study Using the SAMA5D2-compatible ADC device.

I'm sorry if I didn't add all the details. I was quite depressed after couple of days of trying.

Here is my device tree code:

Code: Select all

adc: adc@fc030000 {
	pinctrl-names = "default";
	pinctrl-0 = <&pinctrl_adc_default>;
	status = "okay";
	vddana-supply = <&vdd_3v3_lp_reg>;
	vref-supply = <&vdd_3v3_lp_reg>;
	regulators {
		vdd_3v3_lp_reg: REG_LDO2 {
			regulator-name = "VDD_3V3_LP";
			regulator-min-microvolt = <3300000>;
			regulator-max-microvolt = <3300000>;
			regulator-always-on;
		};
	};
};
I have configured everything as explained in the manual.
You're using the wrong driver for the SAMA5D2.
Sorry but I didn't write the right command, I have tried to run:

Code: Select all

modprobe at91-sama5d2_adc
Thanks

Since you couldn't accurately post the command that you used, then why should we assume that you accurately followed what was "explained in the manual" (whatever that unspecified document is)?

And apparently you choose to ignore my advice to study that SAMA5D2 web page, which has the salient information that probably solves your dilemma.
