[SAMA5D2 XULT] jtag stopped working

Tue Feb 23, 2016 11:48 am

Hello,

Yesterday I was able to debug the sama5d2 using the jlink probe.
today, after an initial successful connection, I can't seem to get jtag working anymore.

neither the sam-ba jlink scripts, nor the segger tools can connect to the device.
I can connect to another cortex-m4 board laying around just fine. So the probe should be working.

Is there a fuse I could have set accidentally that disables the jtag?
I can upload code via samba usb just fine.

jtag is enabled in my boot configuration word as well.

Code: Select all

BSCR      = 0x4 (GPBR_VALID, GPBR0)
GPBR[0]   = 0x40000 (QSPI0_IOSET1, QSPI1_IOSET1, SPI0_IOSET1, SPI1_IOSET1, NFC_IOSET1, SDMMC0, SDMMC1, CONSOLE1_IOSET1, JTAG_IOSET1, EXT_MEM_BOOT*)
GPBR[1]   = 0x0 (QSPI0_IOSET1, QSPI1_IOSET1, SPI0_IOSET1, SPI1_IOSET1, NFC_IOSET1, SDMMC0, SDMMC1, CONSOLE1_IOSET1, JTAG_IOSET1)
GPBR[2]   = 0x0 (QSPI0_IOSET1, QSPI1_IOSET1, SPI0_IOSET1, SPI1_IOSET1, NFC_IOSET1, SDMMC0, SDMMC1, CONSOLE1_IOSET1, JTAG_IOSET1)
GPBR[3]   = 0x0 (QSPI0_IOSET1, QSPI1_IOSET1, SPI0_IOSET1, SPI1_IOSET1, NFC_IOSET1, SDMMC0, SDMMC1, CONSOLE1_IOSET1, JTAG_IOSET1)
Boot Fuse = 0x40000 (QSPI0_IOSET1, QSPI1_IOSET1, SPI0_IOSET1, SPI1_IOSET1, NFC_IOSET1, SDMMC0, SDMMC1, CONSOLE1_IOSET1, JTAG_IOSET1, EXT_MEM_BOOT*)

The segger tools report the correct target voltage but seem to fail detecting any jtag device.

Code: Select all

Target voltage: 3.34 V
Listening on TCP/IP port 2331
Connecting to target...ERROR: Could not connect to target.
I also measured the jtag cable for continuity and it is rather new, so I guess the cable should be fine as well.

any help is welcome! ;)

I also tried sending a "#" to the samba monitor to enable jtag
connecting to usb-a to start samba monitor (with external ram disabled by jp9)
and running my own application from sram.

all 3 should enable the jtag port after rom booting according to the datasheet.
