SAM4E-16E PLL Inductor End-Of-Life

Fri Oct 23, 2015 10:05 pm

The PLL inductor in the SAM4E-16E-EK has gone EOL... the replacements
I'm looking at are not exact equivalents. The EK Panasonic partnum is
ELJFA560JFD... it shows to be a Low-Distortion part. The part I'm considering
is the JW Miller part PM1210-560J-RC... it will pass less current, but the
datasheet consumption of VDDPLL is around 1mA, nowhere near the
~50mA the Miller part will pass... Panasonic spec'd 100mA, with a more
relaxed Q and reasonably the same DCR. Both parts same footprint, both
56uH.

Any thoughts on whether this should work? I've got my local sales rep
working on it, but I thought I'd try you guys too.

I just heard from my local rep... looks like this JW Miller part

PM1210-560J-RC

will work fine...

... no big deal.
