IAR debug AT91SAM9M10G45

Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:20 am

Hi,
I use IAR and JLINK for IAR to program at91sam9m10g45 but failed. My question is what's the difference between the ATMEL ice and JLINK for IAR? Can I use JLINK for IAR to debug at91sam9m10g45 demo board?

Not sure Android or Linux is going to program via IAR.

The IAR and SAM-ICE variants of the J-LINK are just limited to the tool chain, and ATMEL chips respectively, other than that there isn't much improvement to be had by purchasing a higher end J-LINK, the ULTRA might buy you some more download speed.

I'm not sure if IAR can step into alien code, but you can certainly do this in Keil or the JLink console, and I've walked through boot loaders, and into the Linux Kernel before. You're not going to get source level debug, and you'll have to watch the virtual transition, but it's not entirely impractical.
