Problems with SAM-BA 2.8 on custom board

Thu Apr 02, 2009 2:36 pm

i use a custom board designed on SAM9260-EK with 64MB SDRAM, SPI Dataflash on SPI0 CS1, ...

if i use the SAM-BA 2.8 software, it freeze after Execute "Send Boot File"
Do i use SAM-BA 2.6 the transfer succeed, but the bootstrap doesn´t work correct.

The Bootstrap from dataflash starts, but the program canceled at a unknown position in function load_df
and reset the microcontroller and restart.

Have anyone a idea?

Thanks

Hello ,

You need to customize SAMBA according to your custom board (SDRAM configuration etc).

Did you find a solution to this problem?

We are having a similar problem with a custom board based on 9G20-EK. 90% of the design clocks, SDRAM, Dataflash are the same as the EK design.

The Enable SPI0_CS1 script works fine.

If we try "Erase All" on the AT45DB, it hangs

If you try "Send Boot File", it hangs

If we try and send a file to Dataflash, it hangs.

We have the newer tcl script that disables the MCCK.

Any help is appreciated.

I have the similar problem:

I'm using a new designed AT91SAM9260-EK board. I can communicate through J-Link (I'm using IAR EmbeddedWorkbench and SAM-BA), on SAM-BA, for NAND Flash, when I say

"Erase All" or
"Scrub Nand Flash" it works fine

but when I say
"Enable Nand Flash" or
"Send Boot File" it hangs..

I've tried SAM-BA 2.7 and SAMBA 2.9.
I've also tried different J-Link speeds..but nothing has changed..

Return to “SAM-BA”
