Detecting 16 bit Nandflash

Thu Apr 22, 2010 7:42 pm

Our design is based on the 9263 eval board, and supports either 8 bit or 16 bit Nandflash. The 8 bit part works fine, but when the 16 bit part is soldered in and I Enable Nandflash in SAM-BA, I get:
Script Error: Can't detect known device
The device ID is in the list in NandFlashModelList.c, so shouldn't it be recognized? Do I need to edit a script or recompile an applet? Or is it likely to be a hardware problem?

In case anyone else has this problem, I found out from Atmel tech support that this is a hardware issue. The pinouts for the 16 bit Micron flash changed radically between rev AAC and AAD. We were able to jumper the changed lines and make it work.
