Error h_handle returned zero

Wed Jan 03, 2018 11:34 pm

I already saw another thread, but it's already locked, so I opened another one.

I'm using Windows 10.
From http://www.microchip.com/DevelopmentToo ... Programmer
I've downloaded and installed SAM-BA 2.18 for Windows.
I've downloaded SAM-BA 3.2.1 for Windows, but I could not install, because it's not a Windows Installer.

If I run sam-ba.ext in PowerShell (Administrator Mode), then nothing happens.
If I run SAM-BA 2.18 GUI, then I got following

===========
Error h_handle returned zero

while executing
"TCL_Open $target(connection)"
invoked from within
"if {$::argc >= 2}{

puts "-I- Retrieved arguments from command line:"
puts "-I- argv 0 : [lindex $::argv0]"
puts "-I- argv 1 : [linde..."
(file "C:/Program Files(x86)/Atmel/sam-ba_2.12/sam-ba.exe/lib/tkcon.tcl" line 4924)
invoked from within
"source [file join $startkit::topdir lib/tkcon.tcl]"
(x86)/Atmel/sam-ba_2.12/SAM-BA.exe/main.tcl" line 6)
===========

2.18 came out 2017. Is it still the USB3 problem? Any solution?

If you thought it was relevant, then you should haved posed a link to that thread.

If you're going to complain about a problem, then you need to be more specific.

Yes, there is no "installer"; it's just a zip archive.
But you don't have to use a "Windows installer" to simply write data and executable files.
You "install" it by simply extracting the zip archive to a suitable directory.

There's no such filename that I'm aware of.

Unable to replicate.
It works as expected for me with an up-to-date Win 10 Pro installation.
