[SAMA5D2 Xplained Ultra] SAM-BA 3.0 problems [SOLVED]

HEllo,

I'm just getting my feet wet with the sama5d2 and am struggeling a little bit.

What worked so far:
- getting terminal connection to the pre-installed linux and logging in via putty
- build the bare metal examples with arm-gcc
- read the boot configuration via sam-ba 3.0
- compiling a91bootstrap.bin

Now I wanted to try to upload bootstrap and the usb_speaker demo to the board using sam-ba and thats where the problems start.
I want to flash the bare metal example similar to this post:
http://atmel.force.com/support/articles ... d-products but using the serial flash instead.

I modified the serialflash-usb.qml to use the usb SerialConnection

Code: Select all

	connection: SerialConnection {

		port: "ttyACM0"
		baudRate: 57600

}
When I try to run the script I just get the error

Code: Select all

AppletLoader.qml:99: Error: Applet AT25/AT26 Serial Flash failed to initialize (status=-1)
I also tried building my own version of the applet from the softpack, but got the same result.

Is there something to setup before using sam-ba to access the flash?
The problem seems to be either in sam-ba itself or the serialflash.bin as the script never succeeds in initializing the serial flash app.

Any help is welcome!

Maybe short the jumper for serial flash chip select?

turns out to be a silly error on my side.
I was using the wrong USB Port.
I had the cable attached to the EDBG port and not USB-A.

With the correct port I can flash using samba.
