I'm designing a device that will be power from an apple device (iphone, ipad) and draw power from it. Apple limits the amount of power draw during initial connection to 30 mA for a USB high speed device (10mA for a full speed device). 100mA after initial communication.
From the spec sheets it looks like the firmware can be written to boot with slow clock speed and then change it (PLL) later for faster operation. Firmware can also be further optimized to limit the power draw during booting. Is this correct?
Discussion around product based on ARM Cortex M3 core.
