SD card

Thu Mar 31, 2005 12:47 am

I wish to design our board with one Smart card (Lexar SD 1GB high speed flash)socket. Is the mux required as on the DK-EK boards. We will never use a "dataflash card".

I am familiar with mounting usb etc but what would the mount cmd be for this SD card? Is the as-delivered EK kernel set-up for SD cards?

ie
mount /dev/??? /mountdir -t????

thanks

There is no SD-Card support in the std Linux Kernel.
The rules of the SD-Card association does not allow open source drivers.
I know there are people working on SD-Card drivers for the AT91RM9200,
but they will (have to) be released as binary modules.
I will (if I remember :-) give a link here, when it becomes available.

To avoid confusion, you should not call it "Smart cards".
Smart cards typically have an ISO7816 interface, which is simuilar to I2C.
